The way news is stored and shown to the user has been reworked, here's what has changed:

Posts can now be viewed standalone

You might notice the '(Post-only view)' button next to every title, that will take you to a page to view only that post.
This is mostly done for SEO and readers, but it's a good feature to have nonetheless.

Clicking a post title on the news page will allow you to copy a URL with the anchor that scrolls directly to that post

Once you click a post title, it will set your current URL to /news#post-id, which can then be copied and sent elsewhere, this anchor will tell browsers to automatically scroll to the element with that ID.

Posts may now have multiple authors, each with optional URLs

You will see in the post header that it's made by 'Dexrn' and 'Also Dexrn', which on click will lead directly to my website.
Older posts have been updated to include author links.

Posts edits are now logged, and timestamps now include the time and timezone offset

Edited posts will show a 'Last Updated on' section with the date it was last modified, and post dates will now show with a time and a timezone offset.
Older posts have been updated to use a time of midnight on the day the post was originally made.

Better embedding for links to posts via post-only view

Meta tags have been added to posts viewed via post-only view, so sending a link to a post will show proper metadata where supported.
Additionally, posts can now contain a list of thumbnails to show on embeds where supported.
There is also now an oembed endpoint for extra metadata, which is primarily used by Discord for a primary author name and URL.

RSS support has been improved

Previously, viewing the page through RSS would break due to how tags were removed from the content, this has been fixed.
RSS posts now contain more metadata, such as the author and images, and the content is now in the correct tag.

New posts are now displayed correctly

You might have noticed that the post before this (the one mentioning the domain change) never showed up on pages other than the news page... This has been fixed.
The cause is still unknown, but it has been fixed with the news system rewrite.

Post files have been moved

Previously, all files and images found in posts were in /news/files, they are now stored in the a folder under the post ID.

Posts are now stored in JSONs

As part of the preparations for a complete website backend rewrite, news posts are now stored as a JSON file for each post. We hope to provide APIs as needed once modernizations are complete.
A schema is viewable at /data/news/schemas/post.schema.json, and posts are found under /data/news/{post_id}.json

Two days ago on our Discord server, we have released a build of Brickcraft/Rex Kwon Do - the unreleased Mojang and LEGO collaboration that never came to be. The build dates to the 28th of June 2012, around a month before the game's supposed cancellation (sourced from a Notch's tweet in July 2012 saying the game got cancelled). Tho I personally believe it may be one of, if not the last build ever.
You can download it here! To run the game, launch the server first and then you can launch the client to join with it. It features a working multiplayer!
Please note, that the game only works on NVIDIA graphics cards. To run it on AMD or Intel, you'll have to download a patched version of the shaders made by Grzesiek11.

Brickcraft

Hi y'all! I have started working on the 'On this day' section. Since there is a lot of things that could and will be there, it's gonna take at least a month or two for us to fill everything in, so please be patient. Make sure to check the website every day for your daily dose of Minecraft knowledge!

When Notch first added glass to the game - in the version 0.0.19a, people told him it looked more like ice, so he quickly changed it in 0.0.19a_01 to the well known glass texture that has been in the game until the Jappa-fication. Up till today, we had only known this first glass texture as a few blue-ish pixels from far away, which changed with greenslimy finding a video on his old hard drive, featuring himself building a small house - in the version 0.0.19a. It's a good thing he built it with windows, since thanks to him, we now have a very good idea on how the glass looked. Here's the video in it's full Windows XP glory.

The glass texture from c0.0.19a.

Ever wondered what the oldest Minecraft world is? And is it even archived somewhere? The answer is YES! We have recently obtained this file with the amazing help of Ez, who had it saved on her computer all this time. It's quite a famous world also, it was featured in a blog post on The Word of Notch! You can download it here. And to fill up some more space here, here's some screenshots:

The famous screenshot posted on Notch's blog.

The exact spot it was taken.

The house from outside.
